Six Sigma Green Belt Training

Six Sigma Green Belts are the first layer of practitioners in your Six Sigma initiative. Six Sigma Green Belts are trained to utilize fundamental Six Sigma tools to improve processes, typically in their respective department or unit. Six Sigma Green Belts are equipped to establish basic measurement processes, collect and analyze data to establish causes for process failures, use proven methods to improve the process and establish mechanisms to ensure sustainability of the gains.

A key obligation for associates in Six Sigma Green Belt training should be the requirement to work and complete projects since only actual change driven via projects will yield any true change to patient care and outcomes as well as improve the financial performance of the organization.

Typical Six Sigma Green Belt training has a training duration of 5 days, which can be split into one 3 - day and one 2 - day session. This split allows for better retention of the skills and provides the opportunity to complete the Define, Measure and Analyze phases after the first session, leaving only the Improve and Control phase to be completed after the second session. Delivering the training in 2 segments has proven to significantly increase the results delivered by green belts. In between sessions individuals are mentored to ensure correct application of the tools. This mentoring can either be provided by Healthcare Excellence Institute, or, in the case of an organization with Black Belts and Master Black Belts, the mentoring can be provided using internal resources.

Our Six Sigma Green Belt training is typically delivered on site and is tailored to your specific needs and environments. It contains many hands on applications of the tools on the actual projects being worked even during the training, setting a precedence and expectation of ‘can do’.
